Case study: Teckentrup Side Hinged Doors in Golden Oak

This month, we are excited to share with you the process of a garage transformation that involved replacing two old timber garage doors with brand new Teckentrup Side Hinged Doors. The project aimed to update the appearance, functionality, and security of the garage doors.

OVERVIEW

In April 2023 our local client in Northampton decided to upgrade his existing, worn-out timber garage doors. After careful consideration and advice from our team of experts, he chose Teckentrup Side Hinged Doors as an ideal replacement, giving him increased security, low maintenance and added insulation.

PROCESS

The project involved careful planning and precise execution, beginning with the initial site visit in April by our qualified surveyor and culminating less than eight weeks later in a flawless installation by our experienced fitters.

Following the survey to check suitability and sizing, we suggested made to measure vertical rib doors in a 50/50 split, with a matching door frame. Our customer opted for a Golden Oak woodgrain effect, providing him with the appearance of classic timber but the convenience of low maintenance steel doors, and chose elegant, extra-long steel handles to add a modern twist to his classic door design. Opening outwards, the doors provide maximum clearance for vehicles and allow unrestricted access to internal storage. Security was a priority for our client, so he opted to upgrade to 3- point locking, and combined with the updated appearance and ease of operation of his new doors was thrilled with the end result.

RESULTS

The installation of new Teckentrup Side Hinged Doors enhanced the overall aesthetic of the garage, instantly boosting it’s kerb appeal. The 40mm thick interlocking panels will not only insulate the garage but also reduce sound transmission, ensuring a quieter environment. The solid panels and engineered frames create a reassuring deep ‘’clunk’’ on closing, signalling their exceptional quality and construction. The combination of performance, appearance and value, along with our efficient and easy process and professional installation resulted in a client who couldn’t be happier.
